Burian’s Tower

It stands next to the parish church on Horný Val Street in the historic centre of Žilina. It was designed to be a bell tower and an observation post. Guards could look out for fires and approaching enemies. Over the centuries, it has
come to be closely associated with the church.

The tower is one of the dominant features of the town, so it should be easy to find. It is close to the route between the two main squares – Hlinkovo Námestie and Mariánske Námestie. The tower is adjacent to the parish church
opposite the Mirage Shopping Centre.
