Gbeľany – Zlieň – Horný Vadičov / Kubaščíkovci

Description: You can start another day-long trip in Gbeľany (360 metres above sea level). Continue through Žiarce saddle, saddle under Zlieň, Zlieň to Horný Vadičov. In Gbeľany you start on the yellow trail, continue by the red trail to Žiarce saddle (650 metres above sea level). From saddle above Melišovci (735 metres above sea level) you should switch to the blue trail. The whole trail is 16.3 km long and it lasts for about 4.5 hours. Those who would like to make the trip longer, can continue from Horný Vadičov to the popular Ľadonhora (999 metres above sea level). This means an additional 1.8 km that you should manage in 1.5 hour. From Ľadonhora you can either return by the same trail to settlement Kubaščíkovci in Horný Vadičov (545 metres above sea level) or you can continue further along the blue trail to saddle below Ľadonhoroa and along the yellow trail to the cottage below Ľadonhora. The cottage is only 480 m from the recreational resort RS Vadičov, where you can enjoy a meal in a local restaurant. Then you have to get to the bus stop Horný Vadičov – Kaplík and wait for a bus that will take you to Kysucké Nové Mesto. From Kysucké Nové Mesto you can take a bus to Žilina.

From December 2015 the services of a new four star hotel will be available to tourists that visit the Žilina region. The hotel will be residing in the building of the Baroque manor house in village Gbeľany. Now it is under reconstruction. The newly built parts of the hotel complex will include a conference hall, restaurant, two bowling lanes and wellness-centre with a pool.
