Cycling trail Terchová - Zázrivá – Plešivá - Zázrivá – Biela

Description:
The trail starts on an asphalt road – green-marked trail – in direction to Šípková – Jánošovci – Smrekovci. In the settlement Smrekovci you should turn left and enjoy the first technical climb. It is not long, but you will be sweating for sure. Please follow the marks carefully. The trail goes through a meadow, then over a small hill, and then down the hill. Then you should turn left to a settlement. You should remain on the green trail and continue along the gas duct in direction to Zázrivá. You can enjoy the first nice views of Malá Fatra, Malý Rozsutec and Veľký Rozsutec from the 1st peak above the saddle Rovná hora (861 metres above sea level). Then you should go down the hill to Zázrivá but be very careful please as there are many stones on the road and braking can be difficult. After arriving to the village you should turn right to the yellow cycling trail. On the next crossroads turn right and go along the main road in direction to Dolný Kubín. After approximately 280 metres you should turn left to a footbridge over the brook that will take you to the other side. Turn right and after approximately 50 metres turn left to the green cycling trail in direction to Zázrivá – Plešivá. Another ascent starts and you get to the 2nd peak of the trip (862 metres above sea level). This section is rather easy (approximately 25 minutes from the village to the peak). On the peak you should replenish liquids and sugar. Now you are in the middle of the journey. A 6 minute downhill awaits you. Arrive to the main road, cross it over in direction to Zázrivá – Biela. Choose the right tempo as the 3rd peak is near (809.1 metres above sea level), right below the saddle Príslop nad Bielou. It is only 1.8 km from the crossroads in Biela, but the elevation is 212 m (in approximately 23 minutes)! You will probably push your bicycle the last 200 metres. After arriving to the peak you will be rewarded with a good feeling and a picturesque view of village Zázrivá – Biela and the panorama of Malá Fatra. Get ready for the downhill. This section of the trail copies the hiking trail, so please be careful of the hikers. If you need to refill your energy, you can stop in Zázrivá – Petrová, in log houses at Jánošíkov Dvor restaurant. After the downhill from the restaurant, you should turn left to the main road, to the blue/red cycling trail, in direction to Terchová. Saddle Rovná (753.9 metres above sea level), the last peak of the trip, is near. It is approximately 2.14 km from the crossroads and this last ascent can be very difficult.
