Kysuce Cycle Route

Description:
Kysuce Cycling Artery goes from the west to the east and it connects the villages of Kysuce through Oravská Lesná, Novoť with the Polish border. The red trail 005 ends in Upper Orava region, in Demänová. In this region we recommend in particular the new 22 km long cycling trail from Nová Bystrica to Krásno nad Kysucou that belongs to Bystrická Cycling Artery and is suitable especially for families with children. The cycling trail along the valley of Bystrica brook has a very low elevation and so it is suitable for little children, too. Information boards placed along the cycling trail inform the tourists about interesting places in the surroundings: stained glass by Vincent Hložník in the local church in Zborov nad Bystricou, the Museum of Natural Sciences with a life-size mammoth replica in Krásno nad Kysucou. There are interesting bridges from the period of Austrian-Hungarian Empire, the oldest ones of this type. In Stará Bystrica you can admire the first Slovak astronomical clock and in Vychylovka, near Nová Bystrica, you can visit an open air museum.
