Description:
A very good training cycling trail suitable also after rain. We recommend beginning at a car park in Nová Bystrica. This circuit is also suitable for older children who like cycling and downhills. From the car park you get to the cycling artery by a footbridge. Turn right in direction to Stará Bystrica. The trail to village Klubina is plain and you have plenty time to warm up before ascending to the ridge of Kysuce. If you have enough time, you can stop in Stará Bystrica to see the first Slovak astronomical clocks standing at the reconstructed square. In the village Klubina you should leave the cycling artery, go through the village in direction to Klubinský potok along the blue cycling trail No. 2433. This is a good chance to have some refreshment; another one will be in Vychylovka. From Klubina you should ascend for 6 km up to the gamekeeper’s lodge, where you should turn right and continue by another approximately 6 km ascent to the ridge. Approximately 1 km below the peak, you should turn right from the asphalt road to a forest road that will take you to the highest point of the trail – to an altitude of 945 metres above sea level. You have just conquered 500 altitude metres. Remain on the blue trail until the crossroad “Veľký potok – Nová Bystrica”/ Vychylovka. If the weather is not good or if you are running out of time, you can shorten your trip here. Otherwise you should continue along the contour line in direction to Vychylovka – Pavelkovia – along the green trail. In this section the ride can be pretty fast, so please do not forget to brake. The green trail joins the main road to Vychylovka. Turn left and continue in direction to Nová Bystrica, to the car park where you have started the trip. In Vychylovka or in Nová Bystrica you can have some refreshment.
