Vrátna – Chleb cable car ride

The base station for the Vrátna – Chleb cable cars is right by the bus terminus at the Chata Vrátna chalet. It is a popular tourist attraction used by hikers, skiers and snowboarders.

The lower station is at an altitude of 744 m above sea level and the upper station is at 1,494 m. Cars travel at up to 6 m/s. They climb 750 m in a relatively short distance. The lift is useful for hikers who want to save their legs for a ridge walk and it cuts a 2-hour ascent to just under 10 minutes.

Even if you don’t want to hike, it is worth a trip to admire the view from the terrace of the Panorama restaurant. The cable cars run all year round.
