Farmyard mini zoos

Mini zoo in Vrátna

Next door to the Starý Majer restaurant in the Vrátna Valley there is a place where they raise animals. You can find rabbits, peacocks, hens, pheasants, ducks and sheep. There is also a beautiful trout pond.

Gazdovský dvor Žilina

Just a few minutes from the centre of Žilina, on Železničná Ulica Street in the suburb of Budatín, you can find ponies, rabbits, hens, turkeys, goats, several types of small pigs, baby goats, ducks, geese and other farm animals. In this farmyard you don’t just get to look at the animals, you can touch them too. Children can also take a ride on the ponies.

Mini Zoo Žilina

At the Žilina Mini Zoo, everyone can find their favourite animal. There are guinea pigs, birds, porcupines, miniature pigs, coatis, turtles, iguanas. They even have some snakes. You can visit the zoo on one of its Open Door Days, which are organised every Sunday. Visits must be booked in advance.

Ranch at Autocamping Belá – Nižné Kamence

This camp site, the only Slovak camp site to reach the top ten in the competition “Kemp roka 2011”, has a beautiful ranch on the grounds. It has sheep, goats, poultry and exotic birds. Braver children can ride ponies on site or, by agreement, in the surrounding countryside.

Wild boar park at Terchová

This wild boar reserve can be found in the Štefanová district of Terchová. There is a road to it that allows you to see the boars from close quarters. Besides being a local attraction, they help hunters when testing hunting dogs.

Mini Zoo in Terchová

Hotel Gold in Terchová hosts a miniature zoo in its Terchová Garden from May to September. Rabbits, sheep, goats, hens, geese and domestic and wild ducks are looking forward to your visit. You can ride a pony and try your hand at feeding the animals.

Ranch in Brodno

The ranch is 5 km from Žilina in the village of Brodno. It is a pleasant place to relax where you certainly won’t get bored. You can ride ponies and horses, which you can also take out into the surrounding countryside. The ranch also has a miniature zoo and game reserve with sheep, goats, deer, a monkey and even a tiger and a lion.
