What sort of a holiday would it be without shopping? It’s almost unimaginable. The Malá Fatra region has everything from small shops with a unique atmosphere up to large shopping centres with so much to offer. Recommended souvenirs to take home include magnet with a panorama of the Malá Fatra Mountains, a wooden replica of a traditional axe, straw figurines or some of the region’s excellent sheep’s cheeses. You can find a wealth of shopping opportunities, as well as places to sit down and have a good cup of coffee or a tasy dinner in the largest town of the region, Žilina.

Mirage Shopping Centre

The Mirage shopping centre can be found right in the heart of Žilina, on the route between the main squares, Hlinkovo Námestie and Mariánske Námestie. Under one roof you can find not only excellent shops but a variety of restaurants, cafés, a multi-screen cinema, bowling, 3D golf and a children’s play area for the youngest customers. The shopping centre is close to the bus and railway stations. A local bus stop, Hurbanova, is located next to the exit from the centre. Parking is also available in the centre’s own underground carpark.

Aupark Žilina

A modern, cosmopolitan shopping and entertainment centre with many Slovak and foreign brands, restaurants and cafés, a modern gym and a children’s play area. The Aupark shopping centre is not far from Mariánske Square. A town bus stop, Veľká Okružná – Aupark, is situated directly in front of the shopping centre. Parking is also available in a two-storey underground carpark directly under the centre.

Max Žilina

This shopping and entertainment centre in the suburb of Solinky is a little smaller but still very popular. On two floors you can find a wide range of businesses that can satisfy your shopping needs or your empty stomach. Besides a variety of fashion brands, you can also find restaurants, cafés, a gym and a very popular multi-screen cinema. Parking is available in a covered garage or on an open car park next to the shopping centre. You can catch town buses at the Limbová stop just 5 minutes’ walk from the Max shopping centre.

Atrium Dubeň

In the suburb of Vlčince, the Atrium Dubeň shopping centre offers various forms of shopping and entertainment. Restaurants and cafés are a natural feature of the shopping centre. Free parking is available on an extensive outdoor car park right in front of the shopping centre. Local buses stop at the Carrefour stop, which is also in front of the shopping centre. You can also walk to the stop at Vysokoškolákov in just five minutes.
